En este texto se reflexiona a nivel general sobre la conformación del actual conflicto étnico en Chile, tanto en lo que respecta a sus posibles formas de aproximación teórica, como en relación a sus fuentes históricas, enfocándolo como un problema de carácter fundamentalmente de relaciones interculturales complejas. Si bien el Estado-nación implica una ruptura con el mundo indígena, este debe crear un modo de visualizar la diversidad, que incide tanto en lo político como en los planes y programas educativos. Hoy la diversidad chilena sigue enfrentando la necesidad de dar cuenta del otro, pero ahora en un contexto donde el actor indígena presiona fuertemente a la sociedad, mientras las diversidades socioculturales son aún más complejas,
múltiples, activas y demandantes.

THE POSSIBLE DIVERSITY
Inter-culturality in the current Chile

At the overall level, this document meditates on the conformation of the current ethnic conflict in Chile, concerning to their possible forms of theoretical approach, and in relation to their historical sources, focusing on it fundamentally as a problem of complex intercultural relationships. Although the State-Nation implies a rupture with the indigenous world, this should create a way of visualizing the diversity that impacts in the political arena as in plans and educational programs. Today the Chilean human diversity continues facing the necessity of taking care from each other, but now, in a context where the indigenous actor exerts a strong pressure upon society, while the sociocultural diversities are even more complex, diversified,
active and demanding.
