Through the study of the evolution of women’s movements, their demands and their action’s strategies, the authors eva-luate the gains, limits and challenges of local, national and international mobilizations. Which were the benefits for Latin American women gained through the spheres opened by debates on citizenship and human rights? Has their mobilization translated into a greater capacity to influence the institutionalization of public politics? What obstacles have they met? What have they obtained? What is left to them to demand? What are their challenges at the beginning of the twenty-first century?
